"Barricade the road that goes nowhere: grace me with your
clear revelation. I choose the true road to somewhere. I post your road signs at every curve and corner."

Vision

Unity in the Community with all parts of the Body working in harmony.

FAQ's

How are you funded?
Funding has come in a number of ways. Our first source was from ticket sales from our concerts. That worked for a while until our expenses began exceeding our income. Individuals in the ministry then covered the deficit. Since becoming a non-profit corporation, we have now begun to receive gifts from individuals and many businesses as well as some mission gifting from Churches and organizations that recognize we are ministering to a huge mission field right here in our own communities.

What is the goal of the ministry?
Road Map Ministries is all about unity of the Body of Christ. We want to reach people in a way that glorifies God so that the Holy Spirit can do His work on people’s hearts. We are” poor in spirit” and we can only impact those who are also ready to be poor in spirit. Our desire is to impact the Kingdom in a way that reaches the lost, the wandering, the poor, and brings them into the Body.

Dream

To harvest reformation and growth of the Kingdom by uniting community Churches to unify as ONE body.

Purpose

We exist to help produce an alive and growing Christian friendly environment throughout the community by ministering to the needs of youth, adults, seniors, and pastors in support of local churches.

History

In the beginning this ministry was not really begun with any idea of ministry at all. It didn’t even have a name. God’s grace was all that it took and this ministry began as the celebration of a New Life in Christ. After embracing baptism as a “visible sign of invisible grace”, an offer was made by a Church staff member to celebrate the baptism by playing a song at the service. God knew He had a grateful heart and someone who would listen to His still soft voice. The Lord whispered in the middle of the night, “Why just play a cd, let’s get the guy here.”…and the first concert was born.

God’s leading then took that first celebration (a concert featuring Scott Krippayne) and headed it toward another (Selah) and another (Cheri Keaggy) and another….Clay Crosse, Sonicflood, Ginny Owens, Apologetix, 4Him, and more. Music had become the basis for reaching others for Christ and with God leading the path, Christian Day at the Bureau County Fair began in 2004 with Mark Schultz and again in 2005 with FFH on the grandstand stage. In the fall of 2004, the idea of becoming a not for profit ministry developed and workers were sent and the next thing you know…a non-profit corporation was formed that enabled the receipt of tax free donations for ministry. During this time, other events were held including several ecumenical worship services, National Day of Prayer satellite feed, and November of 2005 found the inception of “Unity in the Community”, a Thanksgiving and prayer service with Allen Asbury in our first free concert. More than 35 pastors, youth leaders, and ministry leaders are gathering to pray and give thanks together….Praise God.

Our Future

Follow God’s will to glorify His name. The next leading is submission to authority. The current plan is that a visionary team will assemble after the November “Unity in the Community” event to discern God’s will for reformation in this community and beyond. Another clear direction that God has laid before this ministry is to organize the second “Unity…” to be held at Princeton High School in late January of 2006. Perhaps other high school “Unity” events to follow. A third year in the grandstand during the Bureau County Fair remains a possibility, but is in jeopardy of continuing. It is our understanding that the Fair Board has approved a return for the third year only if we pick up an additional $3500 of the expenses to put on the day. We placed about 1100 people in the grandstand last year and the Fair Board has indicated that they sustained a loss on the event. We are committed to do future concerts at a greatly reduced ticket price (depending upon gift support) with our goal to do future concerts as a free gift to our communities. God has not made His decision clear at this time whether to pay the additional or do another totally self-sponsored concert outdoor during the Homestead Festival or another date during the summer season.
