"Barricade the road that goes nowhere: grace me with your
clear revelation. I choose the true road to somewhere. I post your road signs at every curve and corner."

Tinker's Tidbit

As the deadline for this issue approached, I had been given no clear topic to address and I couldn’t quite figure out why. Within a half hour, it became clear that God wanted to use my occasional gift of poetry to share with you.

I believe that God is trying to speak to one of you and as I have said many times that if one person’s life is changed by any of our efforts to minister the love and Truth of Christ… all is worth it.

I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend our next event… FFH and a full day of ministry at the 150th Bureau County Fair on August 27th.

I have to share something that bothers me every time I hear it. If people only knew what this sounds like when responding this way. Here’s the typical dialogue…

Stan: Hey, Bill, I hope that you can make it to this next concert! We have a great group coming to share God’s word with us. What a great chance for us to have an excuse to gather together and worship God and let the world know just how great it is to be one of God’s sheep (pssst….hint… sheep gather together).

Bill: You know, Stan, I have never really heard of FFH and the only music that I really like is southern gospel. I doubt this music suites my tastes so we won’t be coming. (pssst… missing the point).

I am sorry to say that this is very much many of our attitudes.

The only difference is the blank we fill in may be “we like only the old hymns”, or “we like only the upbeat hard rock”. Need I go on?

We have an opportunity to WITNESS FOR CHRIST in a public place and let the world and our community know that following Christ can be an option for them also.

We will be gathering together to fellowship and to support each other and let the love of Christ flow throughout the fairgrounds for an entire day.

It is our privilege as Christians to do some things that we may not ordinarily do to uphold the name of the Lord and becoming more like Him. Kind of like… washing others feet.

We need to do more together ecumenically as Christians. Satan is attacking our communities and our Churches. It’s time that we gather together, gain strength through our numbers, and be shrewd in our dealings with Satan. I believe that we are being called to gather and pray together as Christians who know the Truth.

Please join us this year at the fair.

Poem

It is true that God speaks

Through you and through me.

I pray that today

He speaks clearly for you to see.

Christ’s “Church of today”

Well, what can we say

I have this feeling it’s become not Christ’s, But The American way.

We have freedoms for this

And freedoms for that

“No one can tell us

It’s not righteous to do that.”

Go back to the scriptures

Truth is the truth

It’s right there before us

Yet we interpret...and that’s uncouth.

Bright Hope and a future

The promise it is there

That the gate’s very narrow

And to watch out for the snare

Of a lurking liar called Satan

Oh, yes he lurks there

To catch you napping and convincing

you that God isn’t fair nor does God care… about you.

The Church as we know it

Is under attack

By Satan and his forces

It’s an obvious fact.

How can huge shifts occur

By adjusting the intent of scripture

It says what it says

Through tomorrows, yesterdays and today’s.

When up on the rooftop

There will arise such a clatter

Perhaps it is God

Handing you a ladder.

You see ladders can be used

to go up or go down.

The choice being yours…

Smile in Light… or in darkness frown.

There are thousands of ways

To communicate today.

This is just one

Do you suppose it is the Lord that is saying

Wake up, you who are sleeping living life as a gamble

This is your wakeup call!

I invite you to be my sheep

And avoid yesterday, today and tomorrow’s scramble.

To be “who you are”

And do what “ you want to do.”

That’s siding with Satan and when you do,

You make endless trouble for yourself and those around you.

God’s way is The Way

Of that there’s no doubt

He tells us that clearly

In His Word so sincerely

That we have no reason to miss it

And before we do kiss it

Goodbye forever

And live in the never...never-land of self.

Back to those churches choosing to twist the scripture

I am not sure what they’re reading

But here is the picture…

Revelation 22:18-21 (NLT) says things quite clearly.

“18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone removes any of the words of this prophetic book, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

20 He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.
